What Is This?
The Found Objects Project is a found-object, real-world storytelling project run by Joiyin. Notes and objects show up across Toronto and partner spaces by chance or intention. They collect human stories, not personal data. Participation is optional, gentle, and non-transactional: keep what you found, use it, share a story if you want, or pass it on — none of that is required.
This is about noticing — not solving puzzles, completing tasks, or signing up for an account.
Current policy (short): Object IDs are selective. Flagship journey tokens may carry IDs like 🌱-001 (searchable as “seedling-001”); many throwaway and batch-sibling objects are intentionally unnumbered. For the live finder experience, this page is the source of truth over older press wording.
Objects come in a few forms:
- Anchor stones — a word or short phrase on top, a QR code on the bottom; often in yoga studios or available to take home; meant to be held, kept, or used in practice
- Notes and bookmarks — a thought, quote, or short message; sometimes left in libraries, community boards, and public spaces to be found again
- Numbered pieces — limited-edition drops that may travel and collect a public story thread
Some objects are part of a limited-edition numbered series (including batch pieces where only one item in a run carries an ID). Many others are unnumbered — those moments matter just as much.
If you found an object with a code like 🌱-001 (also written as “seedling-001” for easy searching), 🌱-002 (seedling-002), or similar:

Numbered pieces may travel with a public story thread as people pass them on. Unnumbered finds and keeper stones may travel too — they just won’t have the same collector’s value, and we won’t be able to trace their journey. Still worth a moment, still optional to share.
